These experimental writings were produced on site responding to a 13 floor X-Civic Centre Office Block converted to temporary artist studios in an ever-expanding over-priced capital city. The building is surrounded by luxury developments on the fringes of the River Thames and provides facilities for 100s of artists, creatives, thinkers, makers. In an exercise of quick writing, these poems respond to a Civic planning letter, ‘Riverside House Planning’ , a view from the 13th floor and ‘An Ode to Riverside House’ imagines the buildings departure like many before, it’s destiny lies in ’re-development’.
Writings were produced in a workshop facilitated by artist Eleni Papazoglou on Alternate Realities for Sheffield Doc Fest 2022 with SET Woolwich.
